Laura A. Macaluso researches and writes about art and history, especially murals, monuments, and museums. Macaluso compiled this work on behalf of the Columbus Day Committee utilizing local archives, family collections, and resources from local businesses and civic organizations. The foreword for this work was provided by the Honorable Rosa DeLauro, who has been the US representative for Connecticut's 3rd District since 1991. Her mother, Luisa DeLauro, a longtime Wooster Square resident, is known as a community activist and remains the City of New Haven's longest serving alderperson.
