He has served as curator, archivist, and town historian and is the chairman of the Historic Preservation Commission for Mooresville and a founding member of the Mooresville Museum.

Henry A. Poore, a Mooresville native, has worked for the Mooresville Public Library for 17 years as curator/archivist. A graduate of the North Carolina university system, he holds master's degrees in public history and archives. He serves as the chairman of the Mooresville Historic Preservation Commission and as the town historian.
