Illustrator David Opie earned a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and MFA in illustration as visual essay from the School of Visual Arts. He is a member of the Picture Book Artists Association and Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
Author B. J. Lee earned an MA in library and information science from Simmons College. A Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators member, her poetry is published in magazines and anthologies, including National Geographic's Book of Nature Poetry.
