Author Bio
Author Rita Hiltenbrand Hall earned a master of arts in liberal studies with her studies of kinship and community in the South and is pursuing a doctorate in history at the University of Memphis. Her interest in Millington history stems, in part, from her deep roots in the area; her ancestors first settled in the 1830s near what would become Millington. The selected images have been generously contributed by Millington families and businesses and by Shelby County libraries and archives.
