Strongsville was originally organized in 1818 as Strongsville Township, named for its founder, John Stoughton Strong, and comprised of a 25-square-mile area of the Connecticut Western Reserve. A member of the Strongsville Historical Society, he has selected the best images from its extensive photographic collection, as well as from other sources, to create a unique visual and narrative history of the city.
