Author Charles Larroque is a native of Jeanerette, Louisiana. Now residing in Lafayette, he teaches high school, is a bilingual freelance  writer, and a member of several organizations dedicated to the preservation of Louisiana's Acadian heritage. He has spent more than twenty years as an educator, specializing in foreign languages and social studies, and currently teaches in Lafayette Parishís alternative program,
