Title: Boston Massachusetts Old Antique Vintage Postcards Author: Staff Writer Publisher: Moodys Collectibles Date: 7/10/09
Arcadia Publishing has just released another great book in their Postcard History Series and this one covers Boston postcards. The authors are William J and Elaine A Pepe and both were born in Boston, met in Boston and graduated from Boston colleges. Together they have authored two other postcard history volumes with Arcadia Publishing who is the leading publisher of local and regional history in the United States. Those earlier books covered Weymouth and Quincy. This great book has over 200 vintage postcards shown in full size with detailed descriptions and history of the places shown. Chapters include Boston Common and the Public Garden, the Emerald Necklace and other green spaces, the American Revolution and Boston, the waterfront, churches and colleges, museums and hospitals, government buildings and public transportation, bridges, hotels and restaurants. Boston has a fascinating history and beautiful sights which are all well displayed in this excellent book which was just released 29 June 2009 and is available at area bookstores, independent retailers or through Arcadia Publishing at www.arcadiapublishing.com. All of the postcards here are from the book along with 200 more historical vintage postcards of Boston. Enjoy! I have twenty Boston postcards in my Massachusetts listing along with 10,000 additional postcards on my website Moody's Postcards.
