Author Bio
Joseph D. Conwill has visited every historic covered bridge in North America, plus many now gone, since becoming interested in the subject in 1966.  He is archivist of the National Society for the Preservation of Covered Bridges and editor of its historical quarterly covered bridges and many technical articles on bridge framing.  He lives in the western mountains of Maine with his wife Nancy.
