Author Bio
Judy Redfield earned a master's degree in physical anthropology from Harvard and completed everything but the thesis for her PhD before deciding she would rather raise a family than be an academic. For entertainment on weekends, she started attending country auctions and found so many interesting bargains that she decided to open an antique shop. She operated that business on the side for the next thirty years. Along the way, she became fascinated with American Victorian Silverplate. Along with Dorothy Rainwater, she coauthored the fourth edition of the latter's Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers. When forced by circumstances to take over the family financial management business, the antiques business was phased out. She lives in Columbia, Missouri.
