This collection of turn-of-the-century postcards represents Charleston 100 years ago. Compared to the city residents and visitors know today, the resemblance is remarkable; however, much has changed. The property that once housed the Orphan House became a Sears Roebuck and, later, the growing College of Charleston. The Mills House became the St. John Hotel in the early 1900s, but after falling into disrepair, the building was sold in 1968.
