Kathleen Maca is a writer, speaker and photographer with a lifelong love of tales from the past. She regularly writes magazine features sharing stories about the history of people and places in Texas. Her blog, Tales from Texas, shares travel ideas around the Lone Star State. As a member of the Texas Chapter of the Association for Gravestone Studies, her work with historic cemeteries earned the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Historic Preservation Award in 2019. Kathleen is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and the author of Galveston’s Broadway Cemeteries and Ghosts of Galveston.
