He lives in Portsmouth, Virginia, with his husband, James. The majority of the images in this book appear courtesy of the Portsmouth Public Library Special Collections, Mariner's Museum and Park, Sargeant Memorial Collection of the Norfolk Public Library, and US Coast Guard.
