Although trained as a civil engineer, Ed has studied and photographed railroads of the Pacific Northwest for more than 45 years and has previously authored six books and more than a dozen booklets and articles dealing with northwest railroad history, facilities, and equipment. Ed has also collected historical photographs for more than 40 years, many of which are being published for the first time in this volume.
