From Alton Bay and Tamworth to Meredith and New Hampton, from Wolfeboro and Center Harbor to Plymouth and Bristol, people have enjoyed exploring, boating, and fishing. Some found a strong source of power for industry here; others built homes and schools; and many have simply enjoyed the cold, spring-fed waters of the lakes for recreation.
