
The County seat of Fulton County is nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks and the highlands of the Mohawk Valley in upstate New York. Johnstown's founder, Sir William Johnson, built his baronial home here in 1762. Shortly after, he laid out a small settlement, which he named John's Town after his son John.
