UC Santa Cruz grad Jeff Norman announces the publication of his book "Big Sur," one of the titles in Arcadia Publishing’s "Images of America" series. Co-authored by the Big Sur Historical Society, the book includes more than 200 rare images capturing the heritage of the area and its people.

If "a picture is worth a thousand words," it would take nearly a quarter million words to tell the story of Worcester, Massachusetts' Polonia found on these generously illustrated pages.

The 128-page "Images of America: Burlington," which features photos from the late 1800s to present day, is set for release by Arcadia Publishing, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., on Oct. 26.

“New Philadelphia,” written by Erin L. Van Fossen and published by Arcadia Publishing as part of its Postcard History Series, tells the story of the city in the images of note cards and the knowledgeable text of the author, who co-chairs the City of New Philadelphia Bicentennial Committee.

Longtime Bears fans will enjoy a trip down memory lane in Roy Taylor’s “Chicago Bears History.” Covering the Bears from the franchise’s inception in 1920 through the present day, the book focuses on the teams, players, and moments that have defined the franchise.

Holland and Its Neighbors is a new book in the popular “Images of America” series, by Arcadia Publishing. Compiled by the Holland Historical Society (of Holland, Vermont), the book, like others in the series, is a pictorial look back at the area’s past.
